Eva Longoria Parker criticizes U.S. on child farm labor
U.S. actress Eva Longoria Parker on Wednesday called for urgent measures against child labor on U.S. farms during the presentation of a documentary that evaluates by 400,000 the number of children involved in field work.

“Children who supply the country with the greatest power in the world go to bed on an empty stomach,” complained star of Desperate Housewives in the presentation of “The Harvest”, a documentary stating that almost a quarter of fruit and vegetables consumed in the United States are harvested by 400,000 immigrant children mostly Hispanic.
In some cases, children work up to 14 hours per day, eight months a year in conditions that hinder their access to education according to the documentary report.
