The lifestyle of Carla Bruni
Carla Bruni says that her husband Nicolas Sarkozy has moderated his lifestyle and changed his excessive taste for luxury. The French first lady says she would vote for him “despite his leftist leanings.”
Sarkozy has earned the nickname “President Bling Bling” (a term which refers to the ostentation of wealth that make rappers) for his fascination with everything that shines, especially the sunglasses brand Ray Ban sunglasses and Rolex watches as well as luxury vacations and his outbursts of public anger. This term is incorporated, since then, the usual vocabulary of the press to refer to this facet of the president.
“What could be the bling bling? Watches, glasses?. He is more serious and that’s important for someone who holds a position like yours,” Bruni said in remarks to reporters.
Monitoring the press has made the relationship between the president, 53, and Bruni, Italian singer and model, has been accompanied by a decline in popularity according to recent polls, in part, their stance on certain policies.
For its part, France’s first lady, 40, said they would vote for her husband despite his tendency leftist and opposition to immigration policy.
