Jimmy Dean, country music legend, dies at 81

The country music legend, Jimmy Dean, died at the age of 81. The singer died suddenly on Sunday, June 13 night at his home in Varina, Virginia, his wife, Donna Meade Dean. Donna has revealed that she left her husband to eat while watching television but when he returned he had lost consciousness.
Dean was pronounced dead that night. A spokesman for the department of Henrico County Police tells. Dean’s death appears to be the result of natural causes.
Dean made his first foray into show business after leaving the U.S. Air Force in the 1940s hosting a radio show and formed a band called the Texas Wildcats. In the 1950s hosted a television series before scoring a number one hit in America in 1961 with “Big Bad John” the song won a Grammy .
Dean got several hits in the 1960s with songs like “being at my side”, “Sweet Misery” and “A Thing Called Love” and also became a TV star as host of “Tonight Show” and in front of his own self-titled program “The Jimmy Dean Show.”
Later, his skills were tested as an actor with a film and television projects including his best known role as the reclusive billionaire from Las Vegas, Willard Why in 1971 in the James Bond film “Diamonds Are Forever” . Dean also became known for its famous food company, “the Jimmy Dean Sausage,” which he founded in 1969 with his brother Don. The company later became known as the Sara Lee Corporation and Dean was a long time spokesperson for the brand.
The veteran star was elected to the Hall of Fame Country Music in February and was supposed to come into this hall of stars in October. He is survived by three sons, Garry, Connie and Robert from his marriage to Mary Sue Dean and his second wife, Donna Meade Dean.
