Madonna cried when she saw Sean Penn in the movie ‘Milk’
Madonna “cried and cried, while watching her ex-husband Sean Penn in the role of homosexual politician Harvey Milk in the biopic” Milk “because the movie reminded him of the gay who has lost friends to AIDS. Penn won Oscar Best Actor for his portrayal of Milk the first openly gay man ever elected to a public office in California in the 2008 biopic and the singer admits that the theater brought her to tears.
In an interview with film director Gus Van Sant in the new issue of Interview magazine, Madonna said: “The film was a brilliant film Milk. I cried and cried. I loved it. Penn’s work is amazing … Looking for Milk was a trip back for me. ”
‘What the film has triggered in me was all my early days in New York and the scene occurred to me when Andy Warhol and Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat and Kenny Scharf. It was so full of art, politics and this wonderful spirit. So many of these people are dead now. Think it is one reason why they wept. ”
