Choose a new Miss Colombia and the United Kingdom
For the first time in the history of Miss Great Britain the winner was … A Latina! Last Sunday, was crowned Tara Hoyos-Martinez as the representative of the United Kingdom, which will compete next August at Miss Universe.
Tara is 21 and, though a British citizen, his parents are from Colombia. Currently studying Medicine, Chemistry and Biology at Manchester Metropolitan University and hopes to later join a specialty of surgery.
In an interview with BBC World Tara said: “I am very proud of both my community. I feel very Latin, but I was born in London.
