George Clooney denies having finished with his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis

U.S. actor George Cloone and denied rumors today about the end of the engagement it has with the Italian model Elisabetta Canalis.

“Once again this is a fabricated story, which echo other means and now disproved,” said the interpreter in a statement to People magazine. “Do not let the facts stand in the way of a good story,” he added ironically.

Information on the breakdown of the relationship emerged in a British website that claimed that Clooney decided to put an end to dating after the ceremony for the Academy Awards, in early March.

The site in question pointed as causes of the rupture at the Italian fondness for late night parties, which supposedly married to the actor’s lifestyle, and jealousy of the model.

Canalis Clooney and appeared together for the first time at the International Film Festival in Venice, held in September.

Canalis, 31, forthcoming in five chapters of the third season of “Leverage” from TNT, starring Timothy Hutton.

In that series will play a mysterious woman known simply as “Italian.”

For its part Clooney, 48, will debut this summer, “The American”, a spy thriller in which he plays a murderer who accepts one last assignment before retiring.
