Riddle me this? Which British newspaper is full of bull shit speculation? I hope you guessed The Sun. They are claiming that Eddie Murphy is going to play the Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie. They also claim that Rachel Weisz is going to play Catwoman (I wish it were true). The foolishness and fuckery continues on to say that Shia Labeouf is going to play Robin. The Sun also claims that Christian Bale, and Michael Caine will be returning and the film is tentatively called Gotham and it will be set for a 2010 release.I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Christian Bale would be done with the franchise if they tried to bring in Robin. Actually he said "If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work."
All of this bull shit aside, I don't even think Christopher Nolan has written a script for the movie. If I were him I would be so sick of the speculation that I just wouldn't do it.
