BLOG! For Your Life Review: Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist.

Let me start this out on a good note... LOVED IT! Ah! That felt good. See the passed two movies have been disappointments to me. I expected "Burn After Reading" to be a combo of "Raising Arizona" and "The Big Lebowski" meets James Bond. It wasn't. My high expectations were dashed. I hoped that "Choke" would live up to the book the was "Fight Club" and a perfect condensed version of its source material. It was not. Now, I thought I was gonna be disappointed again tonight. Fore I have read the book "Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist" which was perfect. It's a dainty little book that full of angst and love and I just adored that book. So much so that I handed it over to Kendra afterwards which I rarely do because to be quite honest, she is a book snob. That's not a bad thing. If you are a book snob you probably earned the right to be. It takes determination and effort to develope one's literary palate. I comend my partner in crime. So I handed this book over to Kendra, and she liked it to.
Okay so clearly I loved the book, and to my dismay, I really liked the movie. Whoever wrote the adapted screenplay, I comend you. You were able to capture the essence and importance of the source material, while adding a fresh Hollywood charm to the movie. The casting was also extremely good. You would think they would have gotten someone edgier to play Nick but it turns out the the adapted screenplay called for someone like Michael Cera. Kat Dennings was the perfect Nora. The rest of the cast was just as in tune. ESPECIALLY the chick who played Caroline, Ari Graynor. If you laugh your ass off at your friends wh are pathetically drunk, you will love her. The constant inquiry of "Are you mad at me?" bring me back to a time where Nikki was tore up from the floor up. Actually everytime Nikki has had a little too much she ends the night with the "Are you mad at me?" line. Classic. Anyway, back to the movie. Caroline sells the begining of the movie. Her sloppyness saved the movie from starting out with a pathetically depressed undertone. The movie is about one night. Which I love. Movies like "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Can't Hardly Wait" are similar in that the whole movie is about one day of angst. LOVE. The movie also had my favorite line from the book which is...
‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand.’ First Single. Fucking Brilliant. Perhaps the most fucking brilliant song ever written. Because they nailed it. That’s what everyone wants. Not 24-7 hot wet sex. Not a marriage that lasts a hundred years. Not a Porsche or a blow job or a million-dollar crib. No. They wanna hold your hand. They have such a feeling that they can’t hide. Every single successful love song of the past fifty years can be traced back to ‘I Wanna Hold Your Hand.’ And every single successful love story has those unbearable and unbearably exciting moments of hand holding. Trust me. I’ve thought a lot about this.

Ugh, love it. The only bad thing that I can say about this movie is, I'm pretty sure there is a cameo of Devandra Banhart, and I do not like that dirty hair brazillian who just so happens to be Natalie Portman's ex.
Overal I give it 4.5 out of 5.0 Boom Kacks. I highly suggest going to see it in theaters, if not rent or buy it when its released on DVD.
